(Las Vegas, NV)  —  With Halloween a day away, state parole and probation officials want to make sure convicted sex offenders don’t take part in the holiday fun.

“Operation Scarecrow” has parole officers visiting as many of Nevada’s 6000 registered sex offenders as possible, warning them not to put out decorations, pass out candy or attend Halloween parties.

Offenders are also required to stay in their homes during trick-or-treating hours.
