(Carson City, NV)  —  Nevadans have not slowed down their spending.

The state Department of Taxation says taxable sales rose nearly four-percent in August, to $3.8 billion.

The strongest gains were reported at bars and restaurants, car dealers, clothing stores and appliance and furniture retailers.
