LAS VEGAS (AP) — Bail is set at $120,000 for a 30-year-old Las Vegas woman jailed on murder and voluntary manslaughter charges in the killings of her pregnant sister-in-law and unborn child.
Elinor Malansing Indico remained Tuesday at Clark County jail.
Las Vegas Justice of the Peace William Kephart on Monday set bail, appointed Deputy Public Defender Norm Reed to represent Indico and scheduled a preliminary hearing Nov. 8.
Reed says the case looks like self-defense. Indico is recovering from stomach wounds that she told police she received fighting 26-year-old Ashley Indico for the knife.
Prosecutors allege Indico stabbed Ashley Indico to death last Wednesday after being asked to move out of their apartment.
Ashley Indico’s 5-year-old son summoned help from a neighbor. Authorities say the boy and his 3-year-old sister weren’t physically injured.
