(Las Vegas, NV) — A growing number of elementary schools in the nation’s fifth-largest district are using portable classrooms.
Clark County School District officials say one out of five elementary students are taught in trailer-like facilities.
The “Las Vegas Sun” reports the average school has six portable classrooms, with some campuses housing as many as 20 of the temporary buildings.
A tax initiative to build more schools was rejected by voters last November.
The school board may seek another ballot measure as early as next year.
