Late Field Goal Gives Rebels Fourth Straight Win
Las Vegas – UNLV kicker Nolan Kohorst’s 44-yard field goal as time expired gave the Rebels their fourth straight win, 39-37 over Hawaii, Saturday night at Sam Boyd Stadium.
UNLV (4-2, 2-0) lead 36-17 early in the fourth quarter, before Hawaii (0-6, 0-4) scored three consecutive touchdowns to put the Warriors up 37-36 with 1:44 remaining.
Rebel quarterback Caleb Herring engineered a 12-play, 51-yard drive to set up Kohorst’s game-winning kick. Herring finished the game 34-of-57 for 385 yards and a touchdown, while running back Tim Cornett rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns.
Next up, UNLV travels to Fresno to take on the #17-ranked Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0), Saturday night at 7pm.
