(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–A woman who police say stole the car of a crossing guard and then speeded through a neighborhood before crashing into another car has been arrested.

The incident occurred Wednesday morning near Pinedale Avenue and Antelope Way.

The crossing guard says he tried to stop the woman, identified later by police as 26 year old Veronica Gonzalez. he says the woman shoved him to the ground and drove away.

After the collision, police say, Gonzalez tried to flee on foot and was apprehended shortly after.

She is facing charges of robbery and grand larceny auto.
