(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–In the power struggle between two power companies, David just beat Goliath.
The Nevada Public Utilities Commission has dismissed a com[plaint from NV Energy challenging a small electric cooperative, which supplies electrical services to Creech Air Force base.
Valley Electric won a government contract last year to provide distribution services to the base. NV Energy fought the deal, saying it interfered with its service area.
Valley Electric says it increased its workforce to handle the Creech deal. It says this decision, and another contract it has at the test site help keep rates down for members.
The non-profit praised the PUC decision, but still objects to certain assumptions and statements in the ruling of this week.
