(Las Vegas, NV) — The Nevada National Guard is recalling workers affected by last week’s government shutdown induced furlough.
Of the 530 who were furloughed, approximately 510 will be back on the job starting Tuesday morning.
The remainder are in a “non-accepted” category. Maj. Dennis Fournier of the Nevada National Guard tells KXNT, he is hopeful they will be able to return to work in a few days.
Congress secured appropriations for active service members who stayed on to ensure operations continued. The Senate is now discussing if furloughed staff members will receive back pay.
