(Las Vegas, NV)  —  Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins is not giving up on a sales tax hike for more police officers.

Collins says he’ll draft a proposal to phase in a tax hike of less than a quarter-percent by July 2014.

He plans to introduce the measure next week, with a vote scheduled for November.

Last week, commissioners rejected two proposed sales tax hikes to help hire more cops in the Las Vegas Valley.
