GEORGE NOORY IN LAS VEGAS: Get tickets now -- be there June 9!

There’s another candidate to replace Doug Gillespie as Sheriff. 55-year-old Capt. Larry Burns is currently in charge of Metro’s Bolden Area Command. He’s been on the force since 1986. His entry into the race makes him the 5th candidate to replace Gillespie who surprised everyone back in August by saying he wasn’t going to run for a third term. Others already in the race include former Metro Assistant Sheriff Ted Moody, former Las Vegas Constable Bobby Gronauer, Metro Police Officer Laurie Bisch, and police detective Gordon Martinez. Insiders say Sheriff Gillespie may endorse a candidate who has yet to announce: assistant Sheriff Joe Lombardo.
