(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)– Las Vegas man has been convicted of mail and wire fraud in a mortgage fraud scheme.
A jury convicted 36 year old Jabari Marshall, who faces up to 20 years in prison when sentenced in January. He’s the 10th person charged in the scheme that prosecutors say cost 15 million dollars to lenders and financial institutions. The nine other defendants have pleaded guilty.
Authorities say the group bought 30 homes in the Valley between 2005 and 2007, and many were flipped or sold twice in short periods of time through straw buyers and false documentations.
