Las Vegas CBS KXNT – State education officials have released the achievement tally for the 2012-13 year in Nevada schools.
Clark County School District celebrated 53 schools with a five-star academic rating, or about 15 percent of all the schools in the district.
Superintendent Pat Skorkowski told KXNT the district has a higher-than-average number of five star schools for districts across the state, and a lower-than-average number of low achieving one star schools. Skorkowski’s also says he’s keeping an eye on any school that received a lower rating than last year, to identify the reason for the decline.
Clark County School performance breakout:
5-star — 53 schools or 15.7 percent
4-star — 45 schools or 13.4 percent
3-star — 158 schools or 46.9 percent
2-star — 75 schools or 22.3 percent
1-star — 6 schools or 1.8 percent
