(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–The man who struck a Metro police officer with a baseball bat several times Wednesday at the Clark County Detention Center told police later he was seeking revenge for the treatment he received from authorities when he was a crime victim.

Michael Law, 25, who lives in Boulder Highway, is charged with attempted murder on a law officer. He is also charged with  assault and burglary.

A police report says Law also brandished a knife as police tried to subdue him after he allegedly hit an officer several times with a baseball bat at the entryway to the Detention Center.

Officer D. McCray was treated and later released at UMC Trauma Center for injuries.
