(Las Vegas, KXNT)–Police have arrested two men in the case of a body found in a city dumpster last month.
Carl Simon, 50, was found beaten and asphyxiated. His body was found in a suitcase in a dumpster near Nellis and Owens.
Now, Emilio Arenas and Peyton Hemingway have been arrested–both were apprehended in California.
Witnesses told police they believe the killing was the result of an argument over money and drugs.
Arenas was arrested in San Diego last week. Police say he waived extradition, and was brought back to Las Vegas to face charges.
Hemingway was charged in the case on August 19th, fled the area, and was taken into custody in Santa Ana, California last week. He has refused extradition, and proceedings are underway to bring him to Nevada to face charges.
