(Las Vegas, NV) Las Vegas workers have walked off their jobs at two McDonald’s and a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant to call for $15 an hour wages.
The demonstrations Thursday morning coincide with other strikes planned in about 50 cities across the country.
Organizers say fast food workers are getting paid a median wage of $9.67 an hour and are forced to rely on public assistance to make ends meet.
They’re calling for higher wages and the right to form a union without interference from employers.
Organizers say the demonstrations come after fast food worker strikes in seven cities so far this summer.
Some fast food restaurants across the country have closed due to worker protests.
