Las Vegas CBS KXNT- For those tempted to drink and drive on the final three-day weekend of the summer, valley law enforcement reminds — it’s not worth it.
“You could kill yourself, you could kill another person, you could find yourself in jail,” said Henderson Police spokesman Keith Paul. “And the financial cost is astronomical.”
That includes the cost of court fees, insurance hikes, and perhaps the loss of a job, if things go really wrong, Paul said.
With that in mind, a Labor Day weekend sobriety checkpoint will operate from 3 p.m. Friday until 3 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Saint Rose Parkway and Eastern.
Las Vegas Metro Police and the Nevada Highway Patrol will assist Henderson with the checkpoint, funded by a grant from the state’s Dffice of Public Safety.
