GEORGE NOORY IN LAS VEGAS: Get tickets now -- be there June 9!

(Las Vegas, NV) Clark County has had its share of pedestrian accidents in 2013 as 35 people have been killed on the roadways.

In 2012, Clark County saw 42 pedestrian deaths and already this year there have been 35.

Safe Community Partnership and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept. have teamed up to try and keep that number where it is through a pedestrian safety campaign.

Recently, four people, two adults and two children were struck while in a crosswalk at Wardell and Bonanza.

Not stopping for a pedestrian can cost you over $250, as can a jaywalking ticket if you decide not to use the nearest crosswalk.

In 2012, almost 25 percent of pedsetrian accidents involved a child under the age of 18. With school being back in session law enforcement is asking motorists to be more aware of the sorroundings, particularly around schools.
