Las Vegas CBS KXNT – It’s a fixer-upper on Tropicana near Maryland Parkway, and that explains the bargain price. Liberace’s Las Vegas mansion has been sold for $500,000.
Real estate gossip columns say it was the buyer’s 50th birthday present to himself. The agent who closed the deal says he’s not sure if Martyn Ravenhill intends to live there, but probably not.
“He runs a business that deals with vacation homes and vacation rentals, so I’m sure somewhere down the line that will tie into it,” real estate agent Brad Wolfe told KXNT. “I don’t think even he knows exactly what he’s planning on doing with it yet.”
Wolfe says he went to the airport to get Ravenhill, who described himself as a fan of the late pianist, and flew to Las Vegas specifically to see the property. He made an offer on the spot, and has been meeting with contractors and Liberace’s Foundation to determine what it will take to recapture the 15,000 square-foot home’s former luster.
