LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 37-year-old woman reportedly told police she’d had two Bloody Marys and two beers at a casino before the car she was driving triggered a five-vehicle crash on a busy Las Vegas street.
Las Vegas police say seven people were injured, including a 33-year-old woman who was thrown from her vehicle in the crash a little after 2:15 p.m. Thursday southeast of downtown.
The other six received minor to moderate injuries, including the accused driver, Angela Mageras.
Records show Mageras was jailed pending a court appearance on DUI and failure to maintain a lane charges.
Witnesses told police the Mageras’ 2008 Toyota Scion crossed the center line of Desert Inn Road and crashed head-on into a 2012 Nissan Sentra near Sandhill Road.
Three other vehicles were involved in chain-reaction crashes.
