Las Vegas – Mets second baseman Jordany Valdespin, who’s been on assignment with the Las Vegas 51s for the last month, is one of twelve players to receive a 50-game suspension for his role in the Biogensis of America scandal.

Valdespin will receive a 50 game suspension plus his salary, which totals $61,773.

The twenty-five year old infielder was sent down to the 51s last month after batting .188 in a 133 at bats with the Mets.

Valdespin had played well for Vegas since joining the team, batting .466 with three homers and 24 RBIs in 16 games.
