(Las Vegas, NV) — A proposed gas tax increase has strong support from local businesses.
According to a survey sponsored by Clark County, more than 90 percent of business owners want to link the county gas tax to inflation.
The plan has also been endorsed by the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance.
Drivers would see an increase of three-cents per gallon each year through 2016.
The extra money would fund new and improved roads, and supporters believe there’s enough support to pass the increase.
County commissioners could vote on the gas tax hike as early as August.
