Chad is back from vacation just in time to talk about Ryan Braun getting suspended. AP reports Braun is the first player to receive a suspension stemming from Major League Baseball’s investigation of players reportedly linked to a Florida clinic accused of distributing performance-enhancing drugs.
The Milwaukee Brewers outfielder has been suspended without pay for the remainder of the season, causing him to miss the team’s final 65 games.
Braun’s locker at Miller Park was absent of most personal items before Thursday’s 10-8 loss to San Diego.
The slugging outfielder accepted a suspension this week through the rest of the year for unspecified “violations” of baseball’s drug program and labor contract. The former NL MVP issued a statement at the time.
A Brewers spokesman said Thursday that Braun texted him a message saying he wants to speak with the media but isn’t “legally” permitted at this time.
Chad has some advice for all pro sports and those that may speak about this a little too early.
