(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–The driver of a speeding car that slammed into the rear of a parked CAT bus in Las Vegas Saturday was killed and 8 people on the bus were hospitalized with minor injuries.
The incident happened along E. Flamingo near Sheppard St. approximately 9pm Saturday.
Witnesses told police the Dodge Caliber speeding on eastbound Flamingo hit the rear of the bus, which was parked on the side of the street loading and unloading passengers.
The driver of the Dodge was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not given., but police listed his age as 21. The 54 year old bus driver and seven passengers were treated for what police say were minor injuries.
The death marked the 50th traffic fatality in the Valley this year.
