(WASHOE COUNTY, NEVADA, KXNT)–A wildfire in Northern Nevada is only 35% contained and has burned more than 5,000 acres.
The Red Rock fire, as it is known, has presented firefighters with steep, rocky terrain, shifting wind conditions, and unseasonably high temperatures.
The fire began Monday and is located six miles north of Hallelujah junction in BLM’s Carson City District.
Crews are still focusing on building containment lines.
BLm has urged onlookers to stay out of the area, and residents were urged to take precautions to avoid health problems stemming from smoky conditions.
