CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Rep. Steven Horsford is recovering following a cardiac surgical procedure to address what is being described as a hereditary condition.
The first-term Democratic congressman from Nevada’s 4th Congressional District underwent the procedure Monday at a hospital in the Washington, D.C. area.
In a statement, Horsford’s office says doctors discovered his condition during a recent routine physical and told him he needed surgery.
Spokesman Tim Hogan says Horsford will take a few weeks of medically-mandated rest. Doctors say he should make a full recovery.
