(Las Vegas, NV) — Nevada is on track to become the 13th state with legal medical marijuana dispensaries.
Senate Bill 374 takes effect today. It will create up to 40 dispensaries in the Silver State.
Health officials will begin drafting regulations for selected operators, with the first dispensary set to open as early as next spring.
Nevada legalized medical pot use in 2000, but created no way for patients to obtain the drug.
It’s still unclear how much the state will generate in fees from the new pot dispensaries.
