Suspect In Fatal Vegas Shooting Arrested In Fresno
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a fatal parking lot shooting that resulted in the arrest of a 38-year-old man in central California stemmed from an argument about the victim entering a northwest Las Vegas apartment.
Brian Michael Beltran was arrested Wednesday in Fresno, Calif., where records showed Friday that he was held at the Fresno County Jail on a probation violation and a fugitive warrant pending transfer to Nevada.
In Las Vegas, Beltran is sought on murder and weapon charges in the 8:30 a.m. Monday slaying of 23-year-old Kenneth Mallet.
Police say Mallet entered an apartment where Beltran was staying and the two men argued in the parking lot before Mallet was fatally wounded at a complex on Smoke Ranch Road near Tenaya Way.
Police say cellphone records helped trace Beltran to Fresno.
