(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–Police named the man who say say aimed a weapon at them as they searched his apartment Thursday in a child pornography case. Two SWAT officers opened fire, but no one was injured in the incident.

Currently jailed in the Clark County Detention Center is 31 year old Patrick Malone. Police say he is facing charges of Assault on a Protected Person with a deadly weapon and resisting an officer with a deadly weapon.

Police encountered Malone after they entered an apartment in the 7100 block of Pirates Cove and were looking for evidence in a computer crimes case involving child pornography. A short while later, they opened a door and encountered a Malone, who they say pointed a handgun at them. Officers fired, and Malone dropped the weapon. No one was hit or injured.

Police say their investigation into the child pornography charges continues.
