Mets’ Duda Placed On DL With Muscle Strain
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Mets outfielder Lucas Duda has been placed on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained muscle between his ribs.
The Mets recalled infielder Zach Lutz from Triple-A Las Vegas several hours after an 8-7 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies to fill Duda’s spot.
Duda returned to New York earlier Saturday for an MRI on his left side.
Duda, batting .235 with 11 homers and 23 RBIs in 68 games, felt discomfort following New York’s 4-3 win over Philadelphia on Friday night. Duda has been filling in at first base for Ike Davis, who was demoted to Las Vegas June 10. In 11 games with Las Vegas, Davis is batting .333 with four homers and eight RBIs.
Lutz was hitting .286 with seven homers and 37 RBI in 53 games for Las Vegas.
