CBS LAS VEGAS-Assembly Bill 440 would extend voter registration to the Friday before a primary or general election. Under existing law registration closes three weeks before an election. Jim Galloway, Former Washoe County Commissioner, talks about this bill and why he wrote a letter to Governor Sandoval.

In the State Legislature, they are debating over how to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill. Today, Senate Bill 520 was introduced by Minority Leader Roberson which would not require universal background checks. This bill counters Senate Bill 221, which requires universal background checks. The bill immediately won the support of the GOP and the Governor. Bob Irwin, Owner of The Gun Store, talks about SB 520 and SB 221 and what impact it will have if any of these bills pass.
