New Clark County District Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky is determined to work out of the office. This week, Board Trustees selected the interim Superintendent as permanent replacement for Dwight Jones who resigned in March.
Skorkowsky tells the KXNT Morning News on his first day on the job he visited seven schools. He says he needs to be out of the office meeting with administrators, teachers , students and parents. The superintendent says he’ll come in early and stay late if necessary to handle the paperwork.
The new superintendent says his mission is to work harder to increase student achievement and make sure they’re ready for the next step when they graduate from high school. He says he looks at data, asks tough questions, then acts. Later he’ll monitor the progress and make any necessary mid-course corrections.
