(Las Vegas, NV) —  Police are asking neighbors for help finding a dark blue vehicle seen leaving a gated northwest Las Vegas community where a 75-year-old woman was found shot dead.

Las Vegas police Officer Laura Meltzer said Thursday that homicide investigators are also circulating a photo of a distinctive purse with white leather straps and multicolored crochet work they think was taken before Jean Main was found dead.

Meltzer says Main was found a little before 11 a.m. Tuesday by a person who arrived at the house on Green Pasture Avenue.

No suspects have been identified.

Homicide investigators say witnesses reported seeing the unfamiliar car in the area about the same time.

The community known as Aviana features large residential homes on nearly half-acre lots near Cimarron and Lone Mountain roads.

Anyone with information is asked to call the LVMPD Homicide Division at 702 828 3521. You can also remain anonymous by calling crimestoppers at 702 385 5555.
