(Las Vegas, NV) The Clark County School District Board of Trustees prepares to take the next step in the search for a new superintendent.

Trustee board president Carolyn Edwards tells KXNT News the board will meet Monday evening to discuss how to proceed.

Deputy CCSD Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky has been serving as Interim Superintendent since Dwight Jones resigned back in March.

Edwards says a series of public hearings reveals citizens would like  the board to hire locally, someone who has roots in community or do a national search and vet all candidates including local people.

Monday’s board meeting begins at 5:30 p.m at the Edward A. Greer Education Center , 2832 East Flamingo Road.
