(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–Southern Nevada Health District officials say they now have 200 confirmed cases of salmonella linked to the outbreak at tghe Firefly Tapas restaurant on Paradise Road.
Previously, the health department said there were 89 cases, including three employees of the eatery.
Doctors at the department tell KXNT the actual source of the outbreak has not been identified, partly because of the growing number of patients and the Firefly’s extensive menu. However, said Dr. Linh Nguyen of the Health District, investigators have eliminated the ‘aoli sauce’ at the restaurant as a culprit. It is a mayonnaise-like sauce made from eggs which is often linked to salmonella outbreaks.
