State Senate Considers Late Voter Registration
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada voters would be able to register up to the Friday before an election under a bill being considered by a Senate committee.
AB440 has already been approved by the Assembly on a 25-16 vote. It will be heard Thursday by the Senate Committee on Legislative Operations and Elections.
Under existing law, registration closes three weeks before the primary or general election.
The changes, if adopted as law, would allow people to register through Nevada’s early voting period and cast a ballot in person.
