Las Vegas- Playing in just his ninth PGA tour event UNLV alum Derek Ernst parred the first playoff hole to beat David Lynn and the win the Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte.
Both ernst and Lynn closed with 2-under 70 for an 8-under total. Phil Mickelson shared the lead heading into the round before shooting a 73, leaving him one shot back.
Ernst who played at UNLV from 2008 to 2012 was ranked No. 1207 in the world before the win, which earned him just over 1.2 million dollars.
