LAS VEGAS (AP) — A suspect in a hit-and-run accident in Las Vegas has been arrested after police say he tried to get away by beating up a bicyclist and stealing his bike.

KSNV-TV reports (http://tinyurl.com/bu5hwyf) the driver beat the bike rider after crashing into a tree following the hit-and-run crash near Sunset Park Wednesday at 5:20 p.m.

The suspect’s name has not been released. Police say he suspect was high on narcotics and crashed into the tree shortly after being involved on a hit-and-run accident on the 215 south of Warm Springs. He got out of the car and attacked the bicyclist. Police arrested him after he was detained by citizens in the area.

The bicyclist sustained non-life-threatening facial injuries and was treated at Sunrise Hospital.
