SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Salt Lake City doctor has been arrested for the murder of his ex-wife a year and one-half after her body was found in an overflowing bathtub with a knife stuck in her.

The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s office said Thursday John Brickman Wall has been charged with murder and aggravated burglary.

He’s accused of the September 2011 killing of his 49-year-old wife, Uta Von Schwedler.

Police called the death suspicious at the time, but hadn’t filed any charges until now.

The couple was involved in a bitter custody battle after divorcing in 2006.

An 18-year-old son testified at a custody hearing he was so afraid of his father when he was living with him that he slept with an Airsoft gun and a knife.
