(Las Vegas, NV)  —  The Southern Nevada Water Authority wants to raise rates for municipalities.

Agency chief Pat Mulroy says the increase is needed to offset rising treatment and delivery costs.

Critics fear it will lead to higher water bills for businesses and homeowners.

The water authority board has delayed action until May 16th.
