(LAS VEGAS–KXNT) Metro Police have issued a new, and somewhat novel appeal in hopes of solving a murder that occurred here four years ago.
Police have always felt that teenager Kevin Vargas lured his friend Michael Guerrero into the desert off Holly Avenue and shot and killed him.
On the night of the killing in June 2009, Vargas’s family reported he was missing. He has not been seen since, but detectives think he left town, and went to either southern California or Mexico. And they have put together an age-progressed photograph of Vargas, who was 14 at the time his friend Michael Guerrero was murdered, but would be 19 now.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521.
