(Las Vegas, NV) — The Southern Highlands Boys and Girls Club serves over 1,000 families during all parts of the day and because of that a new traffic light is now operating.
“Public safety is the top priority for Clark County. And now to have a signal that will assist kids and adults across the street to the Southern Highlands Boys & Girls Club is so very important,” says Clark County Commissioner Susan Brager.
Monday, commissioner Brager flipped the switch on a new traffic signal at the intersection of Shinnecock Hills Avenue and Southern Highlands Parkway.
“This new traffic signal will make the area safer for drivers and pedestrians especially the children who go to the Southern Highlands Boys & Girls Club, which is at this intersection,” Commissioner Brager said. “Public safety is a top priority for the County, and this new signal demonstrates once again the County’s commitment to making our roads safer.”
Representatives from Clark County, Southern Highlands developer Olympia Companies, the Southern Highlands Community Association and the Southern Highlands Boys & Girls Club worked together to install the light.
The increased pedestrian and vehicle traffic accompanying the development in this area prompted the need for the signal.
