LAS VEGAS (AP) — State officials say Nevada casino revenue jumped 15 percent in February compared with a year earlier, led by big gains on the Las Vegas Strip.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board reports Wednesday that casinos won more than $1 billion in February. The “gaming win” number is up 2.3 percent so far this fiscal year.

Clark County casino revenue of $956 million was up nearly 18 percent, led by a 31 percent gain on the Las Vegas Strip.

Downtown Las Vegas numbers dropped almost 8 percent.

Washoe County gaming revenue of almost $60 million was down a little more than 1 percent, while South Lake Tahoe numbers were up almost 8 percent.

The state collected nearly $62 million based on February casino winnings. That’s 12 percent down from a year earlier.
