Las Vegas Fire And Rescue Look For New Chief
(Las Vegas, NV) — Friday, April 5th at 5pm is the deadline to apply for the Fire Chief position at Las Vegas Fire and Rescue. Former chief Mike Myers announced his retirement in January after 27 years with the department.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue protects a city that covers 133.25 square miles, nearly 610,000 residents and several million visitors each year.
The new chief will manage resources that include 19 fire stations, two support stations, 664 authorized positions, and a FY2013 operating budget of $111.1 million.
Dep. Chief Scott Fuller has been the interim chief since Myers stepped down. The salary range for this position is $115-164 thousand annually. The city hopes to have a schedule of interviews by the middle of May, with July 1st the target date to have a new chief in place.
