(Las Vegas, NV) — The man who injured ten people after crashing a car into a local restaurant will be charged with DUI-Drugs with Substantial Bodily Harm.
18-year-old Gage James Lindsey also faces charges of Felony Reckless Driving and Felony Hit and Run with Injury.
The accident happened just after 12:30 pm Monday at the Egg and I restaurant on West Sahara Avenue.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a 1993 Lexus driven by Lindsey was traveling westbound on Sahara Avenue, near Arville Street, when it entered a left-turn lane and struck the median head on.
A LVMPD Officer spoke to Lindsey and he admitted he was the person driving the car. Lindsey added that he was about to “blackout” and that he needed to get off the road.
The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigations Section.
The arrest report said one victim, a 35-year-old man, had a collapsed right lung full of blood and multiple fractures of the spine, shoulders and one arm. Other victims suffered broken bones.
Lindsey remains at the Clark County Detention Center.
