NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — A North Las Vegas woman is due to face a judge for the first time since she was arrested and accused of tying her 4-year-old daughter to a bed and locking her in a room in an apartment for up to 12 hours a day.
Laketha Moore is being held at the Las Vegas jail on 31 felony child abuse and neglect charges pending an appearance Friday in Las Vegas Justice Court.
North Las Vegas police say the 36-year-old Moore was arrested Tuesday when she returned to an apartment on Cheyenne Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard where apartment managers summoned police.
Officer Chrissie Coon says investigators think that for a least a month Moore had been locking the girl in the apartment while she went to work and church.
