(Las Vegas, NV) – If you’re gonna be a bear, be a grizzly. That’s the mentality of the folks at Ri Ra Irish Pub at Mandalay Bay when it comes to St. Patrick’s Day.

Ri Ra Assistant Manager Paula McKenna told KXNT the difference between the celebration in America compared to her native Ireland.

“I actually think it is celebrated more in the states than it is at home, to a greater capacity. St Patrick’s Day for me at home is just an extra day off. I might go for a few extra drinks the night before or that day. But over here it is a whole other kettle of fish. It’s  a different ballgame,” says McKenna.

Ri Ra will have parties going all weekend starting Saturday. McKenna eluded to the fact that if you need assiatance preparing for Sunday’s celebration, Ri Ra is the place to be.

“It starts early and it keeps going. It doesn’t really end. This year we start Saturday at 2pm. I like to call it St. ‘Practice’ Day. Get in a few drinks of practice to see how it’s going to go for the main event, St. Patrick’s Day,” says Mckennna.
