(Las Vegas, NV) — Assemblyman Steven Brooks no longer works for the city of Las Vegas.
A city spokesman confirms there was a “separation” between the embattled lawmaker and the city’s parks and recreation department, where he worked as a management analyst. No further details were released.
Brooks’ lawyer, Mitchell Posin, calls the firing “unfortunate” and says he’ll meet with Brooks before deciding whether to challenge it.
Brooks is facing removal from the Legislature and has been arrested twice since January, once for allegedly threatening Assembly Speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick.
