Under the pressure of getting no value at all out of Anquan Boldin, the Ravens have traded him for a 6th round pick to no other than the team they just beat in the Super Bowl. The 49ers picked up the seasoned veteran offering the Ravens only a 6th round pick after negotiations with his contract came to a stall and the Ravens risked losing Boldin altogether.
Even with the support of MVP quarterback Joe Flacco, who just got a huge raise from the Ravens this off season, it looks like it just wasn’t enough to keep Boldin around a little longer for another shot at the title. Instead he will be playing for the other Harbaugh hoping to exact revenge for last year’s Super Bowl loss in which he helped contribute to with 104 yards and a touchdown.
Boldin is now 32 years of age heading into the later part of his career and was scheduled to make $6 million in 2013. The entire trade is still pending on a physical, which Boldin will have when he returns to the country, but as soon as it is passed you can expect to see him in the red and gold of the 49ers next season.
