(Las Vegas, NV) –Wednesday, Federal Mediator Kitty Simmons met with union officials of (ITPEU)/OPEIU Local 4873 and Yellow-Checker-Star Transportation to try to bring the two sides closer together.

No such luck. The two sides met for over six hours without coming to an agreement.

This is a statement From ITPEU/OPEIU Local 4873 President Dennis Arrington regarding Wednesday’s meeting with the FMCS:

“No progress was made Wednesday at a meeting called by Federal Mediator Kitty Simmons between the Industrial, Technical & Professional Employees Union (ITPEU)/OPEIU Local 4873 and Yellow Checker Star Transportation (YCS). The meeting, which began at 11 a.m. Wednesday, ended after 5 p.m. ITPEU will be conduct a meeting at 2 p.m. Thursday to review strike details.”

YCS declined comment while union representatives did not return calls to KXNT.
