Job Growth Stronger Than Estimated
(Las Vegas, NV) — More jobs were created in Nevada last year than previously estimated.
Annual adjustments to Nevada’s labor market show the state gained 18,100 in employment during 2012, up from the previous estimate of 9,300.
The Silver State’s unemployment rate for 2012 dropped from a preliminary estimate of 11.6 percent to 11.1 percent.
The Nevada Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation’s estimates are revised at the beginning of each calendar year, or “benchmarked,” using more complete information, said DETR’s chief economist Bill Anderson.
